We all need to drink water to stay alive, the body can go for up to 3 weeks without food, and only 3 days without water.
You will probably have heard of the recommended amount of 8-10 glasses of water per day, but new research shows we might even need up to 15 glasses per day.
Drinking water with a healthy ph balance is essential to good health, and alkaline water is the best for this job.
The potential hydrogen (ph) scale ranges from 0 to 14 with 7 being the neutral middle.Anything less than 7 is an acidic pH and higher than 7 is alkaline.
It is crucial that our bodies stay in a state of alkaline, if your body becomes too acidic you are at risk of:
- Low energy
- Digestive troubles
- Weight gain
- Frequent colds and infections
To name just a few. Scarier still, if the body stays in an acidic state for too long, it can become as a greater risk of developing illnesses such as cancer.
In fact it has been proven a long time ago that 95% of all cancers come from and acidic environment, and they simply cannot survive in an alkaline environment. This was discovered by 1931 Nobel Prize Winner, Dr. Otto Warburg. Dr. Warburg concluded that acidosis (excess acidity) can also lead to other diseases, such as osteoporosis, diabetes, heart diseases and many other chronic illnesses.
It can be concluded that many of the ills we all suffer from come from have too much acidity in our bodies.
Keeping your body at a healthy alkaline state at all times by eating fresh organic vegetables and other plant foods, drinking pure water and minimizing stress can all be reductive factors.

Tap water, drank by millions of us all over the world can actually be harming us on a daily basis. It is full of chlorine, antibiotics, hormones and metals, that we absorb every time we take a sip. The impurities found in tap water can be damaging and can raise our bodies acidity to an unhealthy level.
How To Make Alkaline Water
Thankfully, there are ways to neutralize the acid in the water you drink, a great way to reduce it in your diet altogether. Alkalizing water bottles, sticks and alkalizing system for your home are all available to purchase online, but you can make alkaline water at home with just a few simple ingredients.
Lemons are pH-balancing fruits. Don’t be fooled by their acidic taste, they are highly alkaline, they also have powerful antibacterial and help fight cancer.
Detoxifying Lemon Alkaline Water
- 1 lemon
- ½ cucumber
- ¼ ginger root
- ½ cup mint leaves
- Peel then slice up a knob of ginger.
- Slice your lemon, cucumber and mint leaves.
- Add all your ingredients to water.
- Once you’ve finished your glass of water, don’t throw out your ingredients. You can reuse them for up to 3 days for making more alkaline water.
- Drink it first thing in the morning for optimal results and continue drinking it as you wish
- throughout the day.
