Every menstrual cycle takes place once monthly and it lasts for 6 to 7 days. In this period, the ladies may have cramps together with some few other minor problems, as headaches or stomach harassment. When menstrual blood goes out from the body, it has red or pink color.
In some cases you may notice brown or black blood during the period, but don’t worry. According to a few researches, the blood that is dark tells that it slowly flows out of the body. This is why it is important to be informed what certain blood color indicates, and when you should contact a gynecologist.
Pink – Pink blood color usually occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle, or it may indicate early pregnancy. Also this can be a sign of hormonal disorder or other diseases of the reproductive organs.
Bright Color – This mostly occurs after busy days when the blood is going out of the body fast without having time to darken. No worries, this is normal. It will be a problem only when the bleeding lasts longer than a week, and the blood becomes pinkish.
Orange – red – This is very rare and indicates a infection. This blood color usually comes with odor, which is a sign that you need to visit a gynecologist immediately.
Brown – black – These type can be seen early in the morning. Although it sounds bad, brown or black blood is old blood that have remained longer in the womb. Generally this is normal, but if you notice a yellowish blood spots, it can be a sign of infection.
